Kitchen Renovation Update, November 13, 2016

Since most of the work done between now and the previous update was electrical and plumbing and not readily discernible to the average person, pictures don’t tell much.  Now we’ve passed the county inspection and the insulation and vapor barrier have been installed.  Next step:  Dry Wall!

Ready and waiting for the new electrical

OopsOops, did you notice the pass through wall is entirely gone?  When the sheetrock was removed, it was discovered the frame didn’t meet code.  So that one has to be rebuilt from the base up!

The cabinets have arrived!  It’ll  be like Christmas to open each box!  Then it’ll be like a jigsaw puzzle to find where every item goes!

The truth behind pocket doors.  Do these have to be changed to accommodate the new refrigerator?  Stay tuned.

Kitchen Remodel Update July 27, 2016

A blank slate:  Lights will go next, and soon the garage door at the pass-through window.  A pocket door will replace that.

The stove sold.  Didn’t it seem that it was bigger than that space?  While we didn’t get as much as expected when selling it, thanks to Pastor Gene’s finding some great deals on appliances, we are overall still below budget.

Kitchen Remodel Update July 13, 2016File_000 (36)

Kitchen Remodel Update: The over-the-stove vent has been removed. The Wolf stove has been placed up for sale on eBay and Craig’s List. We have ordered the appliances and cabinets and by the time you read this our new refrigerator will have arrived. Until we are ready to move it into the kitchen, we will use it from the Fellowship Hall. The old refrigerator has been given away.
We expect to take out the upper cabinets this coming week and then the lower cabinets. Once those are gone, work on the pass-through window and new pocket door will begin. If you wish to have any of the cabinets, please let Pastor Gene or Barbara McMahon know.
Pictures of the progress are being posted on the website. Let Barbara McMahon know if you have any questions. Thank you again and again to all who have pledge money for this project and are so faithful in honoring that pledge.
